Hi All,
Great forum you have here....reminds of a M/C forum that I was a tech advisor on for some time. Just picked up an 84 3/4 ton GMC this past weekend, 147K orig miles. 350, rochester q-jet, I believe a 700R4 tranny, 2wd. One of the straightest body's I've seen after looking at quite a few used around the area. Already pulled the adjustment tips on the TV cable for the 700R4 tranny, as mine does have a slight shifting and kickdown issue at present that I noticed during test driving and getting it home but figured it was either an adjustment or vac issue (wasn't sure what trans it had in it until after I did some research). But, much appreciated having all this accumulated knowledge in one place as it will lower my frustration levels in getting this truck figured out and put back to the way it deserves to be. She needs some paint and has some minor surface corrosion, needs a little interior freshening, but that is after I get it mechanically where I want it.
Anyway, I am a lifelong shadetree wrencher, more M/C's than older/classic cars over the last few years. Work in the trucking industry (office guy though) in Risk Management. Looking forward to participating with the forum and getting to know everyone. I appreciate the advice and input from all.
Here's a pic of mine and my buddy's 79 Camper Special (mines the one on the left) side-by-side. His is "Ol Blue" as we call it...only a little over 90K original miles.
