Looks a lot like the color of my 96 Tahoe. Light autumnwood metallic
Almost like the gold ish metallic color my Crew Cab is.... Rawhide Metallic. Chevy called it that in one of the VIN number reports I had done, the other one called it Light Autumnwood Metallic. A couple years later, Light Autumnwood Metallic was the GMC name for what Chevy called Pewter Metallic, and on the Escalade it's called Silversand. All three are the same color, like a cross between silver and gold, or the color a carburetor body is anodized. And definitely not the same color as the "gold" truck....the Burb is Pewter Metallic, the truck is not....

The truck in the photo:

Are you calling that an '84 C30?

Because -

1 - it's got a later front end on it (like 89-91).

2 - looks like manual locking hubs sticking out the front wheel caps which would make it a K30.

In either case I'm thinking it's had some work done which does not make me optimistic that it's a factory color for the original model year.

Nice Truck!!!!
I agree with Keith,
May be a Frankentruck, lots of them out there due to interchangeability over the years, not a bad thing . The grill/headlights and fender badging indicate a later model as Keith mentioned and the mirrors are not (I believe) normal for duallys, most duallys had the towing mirrors. Those look to be regular pickup mirrors (I think, anyone else feel free to chip in, skip the blah blah blah about could have changed doors.... duh).
Bottom line, send us a pic of the SPID from the glove compartment, WITH VIN, and we can tell you what that decodes to and it left the factory as.

I think its been painted already,....looks gold to me,...so maybe not even a GM color.

I see the high back front seats in there too.

Thanks everyone for the replies. It has definitely had work done. I know the front is not correct as from what I can tell it was replaced due to some slight damage to the front. I am actively trying to locate correct 1984 parts. (wish me luck) I thought the fender badging looked a little out of place but everywhere else I check I can find no indication of this ever being another color. I will take a look inside the glovebox for that sticker.

I do know the previous owner had some bodywork done and also had a local 4x4 shop put a slight lift on it and do some work. We got the truck completely disassembled for the most part and put it back together.

That truck is too purdy to not be running! Is this a father daughter "hot rod memories" thing or are you thinking utilitarian or maybe resale.
That would look nice in my yard ; }

Definitely a father daughter project. It was more like therapy for her. Her mom was was in a tragic accident so I got this truck so we could work on it and get her mind off of things. Truck therapy if you will. It runs and drives great. Drove it 200 miles round trip the other day. No issues other than loving gas stations. LOL

And actually anything you all can point out that we need to "fix" to make it more or less period correct is appreciated.

Here's an '84 truck brochure

and the generic info packet from the GM Heritage Center archive, for your reference.

Let us know if you have any questions after reviewing and memorizing those backwards and forwards.

If you are confident the VIN is correct you can send it to the Heritage Center and they will provide you with a copy of the original invoice. It will contain option content, pricing, any discounts, build timing, original selling dealer and maybe even the original owner's name.

It will look something like this:

Armed with the correct RPO information you can have a new SPID label made.

Contact Jeff at outintheshop.com.

There is a sticker mentioning requirements for a slide in camper.

Every truck gets a camper label (whether it ever gets a camper or not).

Here you can see it in its native habitat, next to the SPID.

When I was the supervisor on the line in Flint my guy installed both of these labels.
