Hi everyone, my current build is a 78 K10 1/2 ton. The plan is to do a complete frame off resto. Body is super straight with little or no rust (typical westcoaster) in the first week ive pulled the front clip and all running gear. Looking forward to sharing my build and getting some good advice from the members here. Great site

Thanks everyone, this looks like a great site that I can gain some valuable info from, as well as share some of my own and make some friends along the way! Found this truck out in a field outside of Madera where I live. As you can see from the pic the truck already has a 6" Rancho lift with some worn out 35x12.5x15's. Came with a 350 with a th350 and np203 transfer case. I found another th350 with a np208 (I know,I know) out of an 83 K10 that I bought for $250 that I will be installing. Both units have a recent rebuild and have new seals, there ready to install so I couldnt pass them up. Looking forward to the build and thanks in advance for any help I can get.

Depending on how radical you intend to get, NP208's are not as bad as most think. Yep, you can sure break them but I've seen them tolerate some abuse too.

I found another th350 with a np208 (I know,I know) out of an 83 K10 that I bought for $250 that I will be installing.
