New to me '86 swb

I just purchased an '86 short wide. Kind of a rat rod. Crate 350, 400 trans, Edelbrock 600 carb, headers, 20' matte black paint, lowered all around. It has great bones with 0 rust.

My goal is to just transform it into a pretty clean old truck. It'll never be a show truck, for sure. Also not interested in high performance.

I've only had it two days but here's my list right now as to what it needs:

Shift indicator does not work

Needs windshield

Speedo does not work

Dash vents/defroster kind of messed up

Passenger door needs adjustment

Interior is nice but needs cleaned up some.

My skill level is somewhere between low and medium. I'm sure I'll have a bunch of basic questions for you folks.

I want to thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Upload your pics on www.photobucket.com then just copy the image url and paste it to any post you like.

If the pics are on your desktop use the paperclip a the top of the normal "post reply" page. It let's you insert from your pc. Otherwise there is a change you must make in the photobucket tag to post the pics. @HotRodPC @89Suburban @Old77 or @RetroC10Sport can assist with that.

Yep, I do.....the matte black looks good from 20 ft. The PO had put 6 coats of clear and it hasn't been cut. Feels like sandpaper
