Just making a standard introduction, I haven’t been much on Forums for the last many years. I stopped tinkering, bought a newer truck and enjoyed the heated seats.

At 51 I find myself wanting to get away from Truck payments and enjoy driving the trucks my younger self enjoyed.

I am getting rid of my 2018 Z71 after the transmission started letting me down. I bought an 1988 R30 Flatbed, I am getting it road worthy right now.

Ill start its own thread later to discuss the crud its putting me through…

Anyway here I am!

Old trucks like to do that....they can be "attention hogs". On the other hand, once you get the bugs worked out, you have a much better truck than the new ones.

Yep, this one has been beat around and poorly maintained. I thought it only needed a donut gasket to get it on the road, this has turned into many weekends work, pulling a head to get broke bolts out, replacing the exhaust manifold that came off in pieces with headers that barely fit, New starter, knock sensor and harness, temp sensor and harness, mufflers, all lights rear of the cab..... It keeps going.

Welcome neighbor. I have a nice grill available for that truck since I converted to 91 Suburban grill.
Headlight bezels etc. I'll make you a deal if interested.
