I am from southwestern indiana , and have had several square fender bowties. I always wanted a 89-91 crew cab with a Cummins , and am in the process of making that dream a reality. I also own a powersports business and if you need any chinese atv help , I'm your guy.

pics of the donor? here's mine.

picked it up from my ex's stepdad. his son's friend was driving it, went to pass a slow moving car on the left, and the car turned without a signal... initial impact was the bumper, buckling it, the fender, and breaking out the lights on that corner... then it tried to play monster truck and climb the poor defenseless Toyota... bent all 4 front control arms, and bent the steering. no real rust on the truck to speak of, its just too solid to tear apart.

I'm in the same boat , mine is a 98 3500 with a 12 ft service bed , no rust , and ice cold a/c. Problem is I can't get another 98 donor for 1800

So what do you have to do to the chevy for the cummins to fit? I am pondering on getting a duramax for my 73.

If you get the engine mounts from tennessee diesel conversions , there is little to do , they will adapt the Cummins to the factory chevrolet mounts . The duramax however is a whole different story , lots and lots of electronics.

Hmmm, I am just a huge duramax fan and I can't see myself getting a cummins. Still this is all just in the thinking stage.

The d-max is a great powerplant, but the Cummins is to diesels what a small block chevy is to gas , cheap to upgrade , dependable , and makes good MPG's with a light right foot . My current 99 dodge cummins gets 15 mpg while towing my 36 ft enclosed trailer .

Very Cool Chummins. Keep us updated as project progresses. I'd like to do the same thing some day. Cummings in a 3/4 ton 4x4 Burb though with an NV4500 trans.

for the $500 they want for those cheap pieces of crap, i'll be making my own. its literally a plate that bolts to the Cummins block, and goes around the Chevy mount. the crossmember appears to be a piece of 2 x 3 tube, notched and butt welded together to form a U and some plates that bolt to the top of the frame... i own a welder, and $500 is a pretty healthy down on a plasma cutter...

I have a 2wd , and the crossmember stays in the truck, the mounts were 370 , and I will be duplicating a set for future use.
