Found the site after looking through the almighty internet. Name's Clint and I'm from Del Rio, TX. Work as an Engineer for the fire dept. So all I do is pretty much drive a fire truck every three days. I've got a 1982 Chevy SWB with a 6.2 diesel I bought off the girlfriend's uncle for $1500. Looking forward to get help with it.

I'm just curious how all you Texans manage to find this place??? I think Texans out # everyone else. Must be Retro doing all that recruiting. !!!

Nice truck. you sure don't see a factory OEM bumper very often. I hope you live in a good neighborhood. As rare as those are, I'd be afraid it would disappear.
Is that a OEM SWB 6.2 truck? Kinda look like it. That must be a bit rare too I'd think.
$1500 was cetainly a good price.

Thanks for all the welcomes! Yeah the truck has the origanal motor and trans. The mileage is pretty good. Maybe one day I'll actually calulate it for ya'll. The only flaw is that it looks as though someone kicked the passenger door in. Not much, there's no creases so maybe I could pop it back out but need to be careful. Other than that it's preety straight compared to the ones I've seen around town.

Sweet truck!! Here in Cali, we LOVE to find these 6.2 diesels..... because we dont have to smog them! So we can swap anything into them which is a big deal here for an 82. I have always wanted to see a Duramax and alison in a single cab SB, mabey you could get that done for me?????

I was all excited when I first read this thinking if I put a 6.2 in my truck I might be able to register it in Nevada. I read it again and realized It depends on the vin number showing a diesel motor which is stupid as hell. If I swapped in a diesel I would still have to smog but you could swap in a 502 and be exempt..... Crazy.

Yep, I knew that already, but I've been gone from Cali so long now, I figured the law might have changed by now. I still have my 85K10 with a 6.2 VIN. So it would still be exempt. Maybe if I decide to sell it, I need to go see my buds in Cali and tow that truck out there with me. Its just a roller right now.
