I've been lurking for a bit, finally decided to join up.
Started messing with an old 82 K5 Jimmy we had around the shop back in high school, stripped it, welded up all the molding holes, sanded her smooth, replaced some small things, and primed the whole truck.
Life got in the way and it sat for prob 4 years before I touched it again, and just recently I've been pretty excited about it and have actually gone out of my way to get it moved up here to The Woodlands with me so I can finally get her painted and put back together.
Just some quick build plans
ditching the 305 for a LS1/4L80e combo and newer transfer case
swapping to 3/4 ton axles
4' lift-35" tires
100% new interior
Exterior will be shot Kandy Burgundy from House of Kolor.
as she sits now, just touched up a lot of surface rust, still a little more to do, then a lot of blocking and priming until its perfect.
Along with the old Jimmy, I also have a 1981 GMC Street Coupe, bought new in 1980 by my father, special ordered color combo, charcoal/black with blue stripes, 4 speed manual, factory tach in the dash. Interior is in perfect condition, still all original.
