My father in law just gave me a 73 c20 350 cheyenne super20 and I really want to get this to its original look. The truck starts up and runs good maybe a little slow to accelerate. It also has some really bad rust corrosion. Any suggestions on where to start? Did oil change and replaced spark plugs and flushed out radiator. Any suggestions?

Good looking truck. Don't get to see too many '73s from my part of the world. Up here they started rusting in the showrooms. How bad is the rust on yours that you mentioned?

CSFJ -- this is most of the rust mainly on the bottom of the car door. I don't know what the previous owner put on it. Paint or stucco.. is this bad? Do i have to replace the door or can it be repaired?

It could be repaired, however it would be a lot cheaper and easier to replace the door shell. Being out west you shouldn't have too difficult of a time finding clean sheet metal. if you want to see the rust we deal with in Michigan, check out my build thread.

Yep I would say just find a new door as to fix it will require new paint anyway
