I have done a rebuild on the engine in an 87 3/4 ton TBI 350 I picked up. The lines comming from the AIR pump to the exhaust were not hooked up. Does anyone have a picture to show how the exhuast manifolds are hooked up/associated with this AIR pump and also a picture of the brackets and how the AIR pump is mounted to the block. I have looked and looked and cant find anything and we HAVE emmissions here in Arizona so I need it installed and installed right...

Thank you to anyone who can help

Assuming you have stock exhaust manifolds, here is the pass side, with the AIR tube installed:

and here is the drivers side, right passed the 1and 3 plug wires:

there is also a crossover tube that goes across the back of the engine to supply the drivers side. both tubes have the reed/check valves. there is also the diverter valve:

as far as the smog pump mounting, what type of belt setup do you have? Is it serpentine, or is it a serp/ v belt combo? I have seen both on 87s. Does your emissions sticker say AIR on it?

It's the serp/v belt (3 belts total w/out the AC) So do I need to run a tube from the driver side to the passenger side? I need to figure out how all of that connects. My exhaust manifolds have those tubes (metal connected to the manifolds) connected but from there, I have no idea how it runs and how to direct tubes from those to the AIR system.. I'm lost and have done a complete rebuild on the engine, got it installed and now am just stuck on this part..

Thank you for the quick reply and any other info you have....

Jim, couldn't he get past emissions without the air pump? You dont run one and Cali will be alot more strict than Az.

Bear in mind, this is all for federal hvy duty (i.e. no cats) and for a carbureted engine.

When you have all of this together I'll have some good images of the washing machine drain hose routing. Oh yeah, don't neglect the decel valve or you'll backfire like 4th of July when you drop the load quickly. AND make sure your check valves are tight against backflow.

He could, if his emissions sticker says there is no pump, but I am not sure how strict they are where he is.
I am not getting away without the air pump yet, I haven't been to the referee.

He is TBI and does not have any of that stuff that the 86 and before had.
His system is the same as the half ton air system, same as the 87+ 1 ton. Some HD trucks were carbed until 91, and had what you have.

Yeah... I kinda figured that out when I took the time to carefully read the OP and previous posts. But rather than pull it all down - I figured it might help someone later on.

I do love your pics though. A project like yours, well thought out, is like a time machine for me. that engine looks factory brand new.
That AIR Crossover is exactly what I had when my 350 was carbed. Makes me want to find the original ECM an harness and make mine factory again.
