Yeah, looks like a 4l80. Can't tell if it's the "E" version, or electronically shifted, looks like it might be with that electric box on the shift linkage, but I might be wrong. If it is the "E" version, it will need to have a shift programing setup, unless you convert it to full manual. Also, I think your burban is 4x4, and this is a 2wd version. You will need a different tailshaft, and adapter for the transfer case. VERY heavy duty, and Over drive equiped.

All 4l80s are electronically shifted
John, as long as it bolts to your transfer case, yes. With an ECM and some harness changes as well. You would basically end up with a 91 3/4 Burb drivetrain.

Well it's 50 bucks plus a 20 dolla core if I want to grab it for a project trans and backup for mine. Didn't know if it would be worth it or not.

I would say yessssssssssssssssssssss. The 91 ecm is available as a replacement at most parts stores, and we could whip up a proper harness with the right ingredients.

http://www.maddogtransmissions.com/category_s/26.htm

a core charge for that tranny is around 250 bucks

but that 2 wheel drive 4l80 would not be a bolt in to your sub transfer case would need to be adapted to it

the 4x4 4l80 has a 3'' tailshaft the 2 wheel drive is to long

if its the full splined one it can be cut down but if its not you will need the 3'' 4x4 shaft

i am adapting a 205 to a 4l80 for my crew cab using a 3'' 4x4 output and a turbo 400 205 race track pattern adapter and t case.

i need to swap the 205 input from the short input to the long one.
and the indexing ring on the t case adapter needs to be cut down a little bit to mate up to the 4l80

you can get a 4x4 t case adapter for the 4l80 and i am pretty sure the 90's 241 t case wouold bolt up maybe a 208 but you would need the 3'' output shaft

You would need a '89 NP241 with the larger 32 spline input from a 3/4 ton Burb. Or an older 32 spline input NP208.

Either from a 3/4 ton or a 1/2 ton burb with a manual trans or t-400.
