Minor idle irritation

Well, I THINK I fixed it. I cleaned and lubed the linkage and when I drove it this morning, it still acted up....idle wouldn't go down. When I got it home, I turned the high idle screw out one turn. Took it out and couldn't make it act up.

Would you expect this to fix it?

Thats interesting. if it runs fine there go with it I guess. I wonder where your vacuum advance is connected? If its on ported vacuum perhaps the throttle plate was upen just enough to give it some vacuum and pull your timing up thus speeding the engine up a bit. That is a loooong shot tho.

Don't know....I was looking for an easy answer and decided to give it a try. We'll see if it's a fix. Easy enough to turn back in if it doesn't work
