My Boys Nate Pritchett, Adam Pritchett, and Charles Hendrickson (formerly on PINKS) racing in the Mexican 1000. Charles built this sick Parnelli Jones Clone for Vintage Leaf Spring class...LS powered. Yellow stepside 3:05 into this vid. Charles wheeling, Nate shotgun.

They broke an axle somewhere near San Felipe, and while they had a spare, bent the housing, and didn't have a whole spare rear. They invited me along, but too late, and I'm balls deep in a project at work right now. I WILL make it next year!

That's pretty damn cool. That race class must have some pretty tough rules making the vehicles weak. I didn't see to many that were fast, and you'd think he'd have ditched the 10 bolt for something stronger, and only running a 2wd? The guys I follow in Cali are much faster are 4x4 and have thousands spent in trick suspension and power train. As said, it could be the class or race., I mean for real, a Suburu, a Mustand, a Porsche???

Leaf spring class looks like the most fun you can have with pants on, I had no idea that existed. I did not know there was a way into desert racing that did not involve several thousands of dollars for long travel suspension.

Yeah, I dunno why it doesn't have 3/4T stuff under it. He builds some nice race cars, and can likely build a hellova 10bolt, but it's a whole different game in a 2500lb car on pavement. I'm getting together with them in Michigan in a couple of weeks for the Pritchett Bros Ultimate Outlaw Shootout, and will get some more info on this thing. I believe it had a 9" under it actually.

The rules are here:
http://www.norra.com/mexican500.php#rules

There is no 4x4 leaf-only class, so going 4x4 instantly blows a lot of things wide open. I do not see any rules that would prohibit c20 hardware.
