I just pulled my NP208. It has been jumping out of 2WD -> neutral, suspect a bad fork.

Having never pulled a t-case before I had one simple question.

There is a support bracket that supports the NP208. On my truck there were four (4) ~ 1/2" steel spacers used where the t-case support bolts to the truck frame.
On my truck, two (2) of the spacers were in place on the driver's side between the Support Bracket and Truck Frame, effectively lowering the Support Bracket ~ 1/2". On the passenger's side, the spacers were still on the bolt, but placed below the Support Bracket, putting the Support Bracket in direct contact with Truck Frame, doing no spacing function whatsoever.

Question - Are all four (4) normally used between the Support Bracket and Truck Frame? Do the spacers really matter at all?

The spacers go between the bracket and the frame on trucks with a lift kit. Not needed on a stock suspension unless you're working with bolts that are longer than necessary and just need to fill some space.

The bracket is supposed to be against the frame and the spacers directly under the nut

Many thks Skysurfer and The Reaper! Will bolt up the t-case Support Bracket directly up to the Frame when everything goes back together.
(the former owner apparently did not give a darn about details)
Have a transmission shop doing my fork replacement, should be doing the NP208 re-install in the next week or so...

It's kinda funny he put spacers under one side and did the other side opposite of it. Couldn't have been good for the drivetrain haha
