I had to replace the lenses on my tail lights. while I was there, I figured I'd upgrade the bulbs to led bulbs https://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/tail-brake-turn/filter/Cross_Reference_Number,1157,21,195:
After the install, I noticed they are not working correctly. When I'm not hitting the brakes, everything is fine. But when I hit the brakes, the flashing of the turn signal stops flashing and turns solid. Anyone know what's up with that?

I think you need and led flasher relay

Wouldn't that just be built into the oem harness? The original bulbs perform the task. I don't see what would make the led not do the same.

OEM lamps pull more amperage and have greater resistance than LED lamps do. This can confuse the flasher if it is an OEM Flasher.

I didn't know they made special flashers for leds. I have leds and have no problems but I have a heavy duty flasher. I think that is what you need. it's the light duty flashers the have a problem with amp draw. highdesertranger

LED flashers are known as "no load flashers" they're supposed to work with LED and fillament bulbs. Without one, the flasher doesn't have a high enough load on it to reset itself to flash (like an Resistor Capacitor circuit).

It's a one min swap. The flasher is located on the fuse box under the dash. Easy

You can also cut pin #7 off the microchip on an electric flasher. Creates an open on the no load bypass circuit. If you swap led blinkers in three front this will also fix the fast blink.
