I want to lift my 87 K5 3”. Can I just go with a 3” tapered steel block front and rear? Obviously would need longer u bolts and shocks as well. Where can I get extended shocks?

I was looking at rough country 4” lift which comes with spring packs. My spring packs are good. I also read reviews and found some saying it lifts the front by 6”. It also doesnt include hardware. That is a lot of money for an incomplete kit that you further have to mess with to make correct. 4-6” is more lift than i am looking for anyway. Any thoughts?
Also you may want to add an add a leaf to the rear. The lift kits are all designed toward pick ups that sit higher in the back, they make them to sit more level. The Blazers end up sitting low in the back without a 1 or 2 inch add a leaf.

Keep it to 2-3" with 3 being a max. Reason being dealing with driveshafts. The front will want to come down and hit the crossover pipe if you still have it. The rear is the real problem and you can fight vibrations pretty hard with any taller lift. We generally recommend doing a SYE and CV driveshaft for anything 3" and up. Yes you can get away with it, many have and many will but many guys also fight with it for a long time before just putting in a CV.

That's something I didn't mention about that red/grey '90 I'm driving. It has a 6 lug 9.5" in the back with 4.56s and a SYE 241 and CV driveshaft. With 35" tires the tired 350 does OK-ish and it's OK for vibration at highway speed but I fought my 82 K5 for years with 2-4" of lift before I gave in and bought a CV driveshaft.

If money is a concern keep it simple dont go over 3" just my opinion you can do front springs first see how it sits then get springs or blocks for rear. springs better than blocks make sure get all new u bolts
Sky jacker softride
Tuff country ez ride
bilstein shocks

If i went with a 4” kit from tuff country would i need to change driveshafts / drop t case, anything else that may not have been disclosed to be able to drive it down the road
If you wheel it dont do the TC drop it will work but not the way to go get SYE and new driveshaft

Thanx everyone. I think im gonna pull the trigger on a tuff country 3” spring lift. Bushings are shot anyway so this is a good time to freshen up. Just finishing up my ls swap now, really close, maybe another weekend or 2. Need to road test first before buying the lift. I appreciate all the input
