Hey yall, I’ve got a 1978 K20 that I’m building into a mud drag truck. The best tires to run for that though are Interco Super Swamper TSL SX’s. And looking at their sizing and my rule book for my club that I race in, they don’t provide a 33” tire for a 16” rim. They have ones for a 15” and 16.5” but no 16”. I’ve looked all over online for 15” 8 lug rims, and even 8 lug to 6 lug adapters. But I’m not having any luck here. So my best bet is either due a full axel swap front and rear, or just changing out the hubs. So the main question is, should I do a full axle swap and that way I could also look into my gearing more? Or do I just find a way to swap the hubs so that they’re 6 lug hubs on a 8 lug axle? Any help is appreciate yall.

Just run 15" wheels on the 8-lug axle. Depending on what backspacing you run, you may need to grind a little on the calipers, but that's no big deal compared to swapping hubs and brakes.

Also, wouldn't Boggers be an acceptable choice as well? I guess it may not matter because I don't remember if they offer those in a 33" for a 16" either.

Or you could probably find some old 16.5s for almost nothing since most people want 16" or 17"+ wheels for their 3/4-1 ton trucks these days.
