there is also something at http://www.advanceadapters.com

off topic answer ;)

i am not a typical French, i don't eat breads, frogs, snails ..., i prefer buy a used us pick up 15000$ than a brand new monospace from renault built in north Africa.
Ram 1500 is the most imported pick up in France, i call this the "walker texas ranger" effect.
i sold the the 1999 silverado at the begining of july, i have to update my profile.

to install a nv242, i was thinking about modifing a bronco dana 44 front axle that is on the good side for the front shaft, but there is not enought brocken bronco where i am.

Ford F-150 also used a driverside drop dana 44 front axle. It is a full size truck axle and would really only need new spring perches welded on and it would practically be a bolt on item. A lot of jeep owners in the USA are making this modification. Maybe someone has one on a farm somewhere you could get.

i had a nissan king cab in the past 4x2/4x4 and when in 4HI(locked), i couldn't make tight turn, there always was a wheel jumping i agree with 77K20

Behind "awd" there is a lot of crap hidden, most awd cars nowdays are 2wd running cars that dectect slippage and try to decrease speed speed of the wheel spining to let the others find back grip.

the best known system is from subaru with their symetrical awd.

i also have an audi allroad quattro (torsen system), and a panda 4x4 (haldex system), i am loocking for a rockcrawler, but i want to be able to take a roundabout* at the same speed as the others cars without making a 180° turn on the wet.

roundabout is a french speciality type this : 48.573171,2.246225 in the google maps address field ans you'll see how many roundabout by kilometers we've got.
I have a question.
Is there any of those jeep transfer cases listed that has the same bolt pattern, for the adapter, as the NP 205 ??? I need an adapter from the TH400 to the NP205. Advance adapters has them but they are between &600.00 and $700.00 dollars, OUCH. those Jeep adapters are almost affordable, I could do one of those.

YUP. I wonder how I come up with that six to seven hunnert dollar pricing ???
It would be the $441.00 unit that I would need, so to get the input shaft/gear to make it a complete kit.
I might just have togoforit. LOL
Thank You for pulling that up for Me.

Those Th400 to NP205 are out there. Anything you buy from Advance, expect to give up a nut or an arm. I'd NEVER pay $400 for an adapter. Look for used on eBay.

That's actually the better style you'd want. Biggest advantage being, if you're out on the trail, and break your rear driveshaft or rear axle, you can pull your rear driveshaft, throw it in the back of the truck and rock on in 4Hi LOC with your front axle being your way back home or to the shop.

I can't seem to find a pic of one, but it's a splined 2 piece shaft so that one piece can slide on the splines of the other. Very similar to the front driveshafts but it doesn't have the double cardon joint.

ok, i was thinking it was a 2 "segments" shaft with a bearing bracket at about 50/60 cm of the TC and then a flange where the second part of the shaft?

something like that :

NO, not for a fixed yoke where the driveshaft actually bolts to the yoke.

It will look something similar to this where the slip is within the driveshaft itself.
