Wanna swap out the intake on the 454. What would yall recommend? Or what is on yours? I was checking this one out on summit.

The old one has seen better days and would like to replace. Seems like distributor hole on old one is kinda wallered out too. Thanks for your help and opinions.

Do you know which intake port is on it. There are 3 sizes that I know of.

No I don't yet. I thought it was either oval or square ports.

3 different size intake ports. Large Rectangle, 2 sizes oval ports. Large oval ports and the peanut ports. A regular oval port intake will work on a peanut port head, just half of the port is covered because of how small the ports are. Peanut ports were used 1985 and later. You can find out which port by the head casting number under the valve cover.

I have the intake that you have posted above, though I have yet to install it.
It is made to run on the peanut port heads, but will also work well on the other oval port heads.
I intend to install it on the Gen IV engine that is currently in my truck.
Then when I decide to rebuild and then install the Gen VI L-29 with its larger Vortec oval ports I will reinstall the same intake.

It should be just fine for a "truck" engine.
If I need more later, I know it is a simple set of gaskets and a new one to make the change.

Weird thing is it looks like it's ready for a spread bore quadrajet carb. All the others I've seen have the square bore for edelbrock carbs. I have a good quadrajet on the old one now.

Back when I was young and dumb I ran a Performer on my 454 3+3 with peanut port heads. It ran like crap. In later years I noticed Edelbrock says the two were not compatible. Weiand makes intakes for all 3 styles of heads.
