California says if your a private seller you must smog the vehicle before the sale unless its a parts vehicle so I covered my ass in the bill of sale stating its a parts truck haha

And yet another reason not to move back there.

Don't worry, I won't be moving back. I really thought I might someday. I even kept this 85K10 Originally 6.2 Diesel truck so I'd have one that was exempt from smog and I could put whatever motor I wanted in it. But no, that's not even going to matter. You're right, gas prices are to high, and it's junk gas at that. All of it is Ethanol blended. All the smog rules which I am actually all for, but in some cases they get to extreme and stupid about. And proven, the smog program is more about money than it is clean air. The State politics are in the ******* big time.

He services the transmission again and called and asked why it shifted so hard I told him it either needs the yv cable adjusted or it needs a valve body rebuild and he seemed OK after that the trucks in his name now so I'm no longer obligated to do anything for him per California law lmfao

20 mpg is reachable with a tune, also, no TV cable to mess with. They had 2 wd models also, mostly for special service, like Police K9, Fire chief, etc.

Ya I figured they had the 4L60E but non the less it has receipts of when all the work was done I'm hopping it is a 4x4 but if not I'll still get it and turn it into a 4x4 I know exactly what would have to be done but the cool part is they make a kit to put a solid axle under the front and get rid of the god awfull independent front suspension

Yup, they just swapped a SA into and independant susp 4x4 on trucks not too long ago. Unfortunately, you have to use A Ford front axle.
