I recently started having problems with the ignition. When I try to start the truck, I have no power to the starter or my electric fuel pump. All the lights still work. The battery is good. I replaced the ignition switch and still no power. What else could it be? I'm definitely not a mechanic, but I'm still trying to do everything myself so I can learn how to do everything. What else could cause the problem? Also did check all the fuses.

Check the battery cables. It’s possible for them to corrode inside the insulation where it isn’t visible. You might be able to feel the corrosion inside the insulation by flexing the cables. Be sure to check the negative cable as well. Check the cable connections at the starter.

How is the electric fuel pump wired? When it won’t crank, do you hear anything? Try starting it with the shifter in neutral, if it cranks then you know you have a neutral safety switch problem.

I checked the battery cables. They're good. I haven't looked into the neutral safety switch yet. I will look into that.

the electric fuel pump is wired through a relay. It's not coming on when the key is turner forward.

If it won’t buzz when in run that’s bad but if it won’t run when in crank that’s not as bad, but if you have a fuel delivery issue then you need to fix that before trying to tack down if ignition is good or not

but those two things do share a common point… ignition switch..perhaps a diagnosis of your trucks column electrical is in ordee

I found the problem. There was a burnt wire between the ignition and the starter. Works good now.
