It wasn't canceled. They made those for other markets. But the wheelbase needs to be shorter so the wheel opening jives with the rest of the body.

Yeah I'm in the same boat as @bucket, I've seen pictures of several of them over the years. Pretty sure they were in production in south America, they had all kinds of goofy/unique stuff down there

Saw an original Denali this morning at work....the OBS/GMT 400s are still popular around the Houston area. I usually see a couple of them every day, sometimes more if I'm traveling much. And the square body Rallye wheels are popular on the 2wd 400s too....

Yes and that is probably an 88-89, see the quad sealed beams? Them GMT400s get around though.....
