This is my build:
http://www.gmsquarebody.com/forum/showthread.php?p=252621#post252621

I was making good progress until I got to the kick down bracket and cannot figure out where it is supposed to attach on the drivers side of the engine. I looked up pictures on google and this site but never found where it should go. I have a rough idea, rear of the engine, driver side, last two bolt holes on the manifold. But it doesn't because of a ridge on the manifold.

Then the throttle cable and bracket..... The bracket does not sit on the manifold / carb studs and the throttle cable is to long and was bent to make it fit.

It is an Edelbrock manifold and carb, the spacing on the studs is approx 5 3/8", I bought a factory throttle cable today and it is approx 6" to long.

Does anyone have an idea on parts numbers or products to rectify these issues?

I'll see about getting pictures loaded here in a bit. Just a little on the frustrated side right now.

TIA.

Universal carb mount throttle cable bracket should make it work. It would mount under the carb mounting bolts. Otherwise would need to see pictures of what you have

10-4. My son and I are getting up early to work on the truck and return some parts, so I'll get the pics then and post them.

Thanks for the input.

I have a 78 k10 with a 350/350 combo and the kickdown cable mounted on a bracket on the rear two manifold bolts in the driver side. When put the edelbrock performer intake i have to bend a little piece of the bracket in order for it to clear that ridge one the manifold. The stock manifold didnt have that ridge. That bracket makes the detent cable sit back near the distributor. The picture shows the same setup i have. But of course i have a qjet so this setup is close to stock

Oh OK I thought you probably had a 700R4 but anyways the "universal" bracket flexes a lot when you apply pressure through the cables. So it doesn't keep the cables positioned properly which for a 700R4 would burn up a tranny!

Do you have any pics of what you got going on currently? Edelbrock carb right? on a 2101 intake?

I bought one and although I had to modify it, it worked great and was only like $10. I don't have an auto trans though, so I'm not sure how it would work with those linkages and whatever else is required for an auto.

Bear with me I'll try to get the pictures loaded on Sunday night after work.

The manifold is an Edelbrock Performer Series IIRC, don't know the model number, carb is an Edelbrock as well.

I notched the kick down bracket today to fit around the raised part of the manifold, and now just need to get the throttle cable and throttle cable bracket figured out.
