Well, ran into a little hiccup yesterday. Walked by it at work and noticed a drip from under the core support. I knew exactly what it was. I'd reused the original trans cooler lines and just re-bent them. They were already weeping and I knew full well they wouldn't last forever, though I thought they'd last more than 250mi lol.

Yep, that's what I'd been smelling all weekend.

Also, my RR window motor died on Monday and the window falls 4-5". So yesterday I ordered a new Dorman motor/regulator, an AN line kit with the conversion fittings and some AC Delco spark plug wires cuz I've been getting an intermittent misfire. These things are finicky with plug wires and I knew better but took a chance on some aftermarket wires

Also, on Sunday I'd attempted to install the ventshades and tailgate assist I'd had laying around for a few months. Opened the box to find the ventshades had already been opened, the vacuum sealing was cut and they'd banged around enough to scratch the crap out of each other

And one front one is missing the 3m tape. WTF. These are also the tape-on that install on the outside of the door. I'd ordered the in-channel versions. So this was just all wrong. But unfortunately it's been a few months so I'm far past my return time with Amazon. Called AVS and they couldn't help me since I ordered through Amazon. I normally always open whatever I order, even if it won't be installed for a while (since I work in the industry, I know how this goes) but I'd bought several sets of these off Amazon over the years and never had an issue. Oh well.

So then I tried to install my tailgate assist. It broke on the first attempt to close the gate. Same story here, had it too long to return.

Sheesh.. what a string of unfortunate events.. Bummer man. Also, cant believe the tailgate assist snapped like that too. Wild! Definitely try and get a new one of those. That is one of those add ons that is sooo simple and yet such an incredible benefit. Love it.

Yeah, I'm just thankful I caught the leak before it dumped all my fluid and either burned the truck down or burned up the trans.

I cheaped out on the tailgate assist. It had good reviews, but I'll get the DeeZee one next time. My Ram had one and my GF's F150 has one so I've gotten used to it, I can't tell you how many times I've dropped this 'gate hard cuz I forget it doesn't have one lol

I believe that tailgate assist rod was made from the mineral chineseium :D

Glad you're getting to enjoy the truck. Sounds like it will be solid once you work out a few hiccups
I couldn't believe how easily it snapped! Didn't even feel like a snap, it just suddenly got easier to close lol.

It's definitely going to be a solid setup once the bugs are worked out. Every fresh new build has a few, if this is all I run into, we'll be doing good

Awesome truck! Looking really nice the way you set it up. Great work bringing it back in to daily reliably driving. You will have all that little stuff dialed in soon.
