After years of saving and perusing FB marketplace/ebay/craigslist I’ve joined the gang with a 76 K10. Runs/drives fine and it’s straight.
Started with Kilmat around the cab and tried/failed at the carpet install. It seemed way too large for my cab and despite some trimming I ended up pulling it out. Maybe when it’s hot I can try again vs finding someone to upholster it. Can’t decide on back panel carpet or not, seems like it would require a lot of trimming as well to still fit the B column paneling and the cab corner speaker brackets.
Fuel gauge, tachometer, engine temp gauges don’t work so I’m in the process of replacing the circuit as it looked pretty fried in spots. I’m hoping I won’t need to deal with the sending units.
Going with Kenmore single din head unit, DD audio shallow speakers for cab corner, 8” enclosed sub behind the bench, DD audio 5 channel amp, and two 4” speakers where the dash speaker used to live. I’d wanted to do a retro radio but the dash metal was cut by the previous owner and it’s hard to justify the cost difference for the retro stereos.
Also installing fresh seatbelts, windshield wipers, and eventually vinyl or carpet on the cab roof.
Struggling to figure out why my cabin and cargo lights intermittently will work when the door is opened or cargo switch is activated...
