how to tell a nv4500?

im thinking about putting an nv4500 in my 87 k10. i have a truck in my field but i dont know how to tell if its a 4500. is there casting numbers on it somewhere so i could tell? any info on this or whos done the swap id appreciate

What year and kind of truck is in the field? If it's a '91 or newer 3/4 or 1 ton, it's probably a NV4500. From what I've seen, the half ton trucks are usually (if not always) a NV3500.

And your t-case is/was an NP208. The 241 wasn't used until '89.

It's only a 1500 but ya never know they might have switched it
