So on a 78 K5, is there some easy way to lube the clutch peddle mounting point?

Mine is creaky and causes some extra resistance when moving the clutch peddle. Praying WD40 up there helps a lot but doesn't last.

No zirk? Take it apart and grease?

The pic is for example of lube location, not the actual peddles in a K5.

Just take it apart, clean and lube it, there are a few thin plastic bushings in there too.

The bushings are not very expensive so you might as well replace them while you’re in there.

The bushings are the problem, not the lack of lube.

That’s about what they look like, mine were blue or green maybe…?

You can kinda see the ones on my brake pedal, same concept as the clutch. (Just ignore my auto trans swap pedal assembly)

ETA: If the stover nut holding the pedal assembly together is over tightened I could see that causing issues too…

First thing you do is throw that can of WD40 in the trash. Try a can of white lithium grease. Make sure it comes with the little tube.

For me it was easiest to access that pivot bolt by removing the instrument cluster.

Fwiw, that stuff doesn’t creep so it’s not a good option unless you can physically get it where it needs to be.
Better option would be something that does, like chain lube, wire rope lube, open gear lube, fluid film etc.

Have you tried spitting on it?
