If you choose to make restoring that cab your mission, you will be a man among men! Be sure to document your journey for posterity. Good Luck

That is honestly better than my 79. It still has the braces from the rocker to the center support and something that resembles a floor! I refuse to get a different cab for it though since it wont be the same truck anymore imo.

after seeing that I don't feel so bad, I will certainly give it my best shot to fix my cab. BTW did I mention I have no idea how to weld:)

I wouldn't bother. By the time you buy a welder, materials, patches, etc etc..

Even if you do an excellent job, you'll still have a patched cab. At a pretty significant cost too.

A 20 hour drive will put me nearly anywhere in the US, and I can get an unpatched, clean cab for 500-800 bucks.

I patched mine, I regret it, I'll probably still get a new cab.

Hello everyone, I'm a newbie and want to know how difficult it is to fix all the holes and rust on this cab.
I have watched hours of videos but it seems no one has rust in the middle of the cab just passed the transmission where the hump disappears (see photos) except me. Is there a piece to buy like floorboards or just weld something in?
I have rust along both sides of the cab
the floorboards
and middle of the cab just passed the transmission area
If you could tell me what parts I need and cost
Also, should I look for a donor cab?
Thanks
