That truck has a 4" lift with that much angle to the front drive shaft? That seems like a lot of drop. That looks more like a 6" lift.

Guys.....don't over analyze the pics or you'll jump to some wrong conclusions!
Nothing is being jacked up so I'm not sure what that was all about....and it's possible the drive shaft is just hanging there cause I've got it apart to replace the front U joint while I'm at it....you think?
I'm trying to show all of this as a lesson learned for those who may wonder or go thru this same thing in the future, so they don't have to reinvent the wheel....not have CSI Truck Repair analyze my pics in such depth! Ha!

Yeah, that can't be good for the elastomer.
I use a 2x6 to spread the load on the pan sump. I actually nail two of them together so they don't crack under pressure. (No, I don't use them standing on end like in the picture.)

Even just a piece of 1/2" or better plywood will suffice. Just need enough to spread the weight distribution.
I do the same for jacking under the transmission too.
But if your truck is jacked up the more wood the merrier I suppose lol
