I recently as today installed a carburetor with electric choke
Straight to the fuse block with no fuse. Big mistake
I also hooked up my radio straight to the fuse block.
Everything was good for a little while then I saw smoke coming from the fuse block.
Anyhow one of the wires on the firewall has no fuse and I think I may have fried the solenoid on my starter what do y'all think. I have no power on fuseblock whatsoever. Can anyone please help????

I would say the fusible links would be the first thing I check, there's a run of wires coming off the starter that has these fusible links. They supply main power to the fuse block, and are basically fuses for that wire. You will need to replace them with new fusible links if they are burnt up.

Get a test light or a multimeter out!

Sounds like you burnt the fusible link going in to the fuseblock

Yes Welcome to the site. I hope you will also take a moment to try to give advice here as well. You don't have to be super knowledgeable but questions of all type come along.

Obviously disconnect the wires run without a fuse.

It's unlikely that the short fried your solenoid, but much more likely that you burned a fusible link, of which the main ones are near the solenoid so check there first.
