Hi everyone,
I just joined the site to be able to socialize with fellow square body enthusiests. I became a fan when I was a kid watching a tv show (don't even recall the show, McGuiver maybe) but was enthralled by this massive brown truck. Instant fan. I owned an 84 K20 a few years back, but was too big of a headache at the time so I sold it and got something newer. Now that I'm in a better position I picked up the one I was really looking for.
I just recently got my 86 K30 with a 454 and a TH400 trani. I plan on making it an off road truck with towing duties. Of coarse, all of my focus right now is making it daily driver worthy (I have a method to my madness, thirsty 454 means I drive less and buy less fuel; I walk a lot). It will get all it's mods after I finish my 68 C10 long bed that I got from my grandpa when he passed away. It's in the body shop now and should be done next year. So as of now I have a second project truck and boy do people move out of my way when I want to change lanes. The list includes a 4" lift, 35" tires, rebuild the 454 and TH400, a pickup bed, and a 5th wheel hitch. Eventually a restoration will be in store but until then a trail and hunting truck.
I'm going to probably be asking a ton of questions for what all of you have done to increase towing capabilites so bear with me when I start picking your brains. And not in the "BRAINZZ" sort of way.

Welcome Aboard Robert. Nice Lookin Truck.

I'm wondering if that show you watched as a kid might not have been Fall Guy.

HOLY CRAP!!! That's the truck! Thanks the welcome though. And I thought I got a good deal on it. I already named it HULK. Surprisingly it almost passed safety. Just a few repairs and ill be registering it today.

I notice the truck above IS NOT an 82. Must be one of the many stunt doubles. No turn signals in the bumper is the give away. It's supposed to be an 82 though.

They had so many different years of them trying to keep up after destroying them on jumps.

I need to locate my Hot Wheels fall guy truck! One of my favorite trucks as a kid when I'd play cars :)

Oh hell yeah. They tore up many. I just read the Wiki, it appears they finally made a stunt truck to keep from tearing up so many. It had a beefed up frame, Trussed axles and mid engine. The motor was actually in the cab with the driver.

Yeah, that is a cool read. I like to read the wiki's on TV show and movie cars and trucks. :)

Your pics were killing my neck Robert. I got those fixed. As you can tell, in Intro threads we kinda discuss other thing about your Intro than just the truck. We do try to keep the Under Construction or Build threads on topic though. So while fixing the pics, I started your under construction thread.

It's a thread you can document your build progress, changes, ask for help, opinions and all that good stuff related to just your truck. Let me know if you need any changes made to the thread, or if you ever need a clean up of off-topic discussion.

Prolly showing my age here, but did anyone else know that Lee Majors was also the Six Million Dollar Man aka, The Bionic Man? And that he was once married to the late Farrah Fawcett who was one of the original Charlie's Angels? She the chick that died of cancer the same day that Michael Jackson died.
