I wanted to join this forum because I've been looking for a nice 73-79 K series for quite some time. Most of the ones around here are rot boxes or C series trucks. I've been doing a lot of research on these trucks, and I hope to find one I like and buy it so I can have a reliable back up/winter vehicle and make some occasional wheeling trips down to Rausch Creek in PA. Basically my only requirement is that it's auto, a pickup model, 4WD and under $4K. A 14 bolt FF rear, 205 transfer case, Dana 44 and 73-79 year models are preferences but not requirements. Thanks everyone, and I'm glad to be a part of the forum!

Welcome. Good advice here and a lot to learn. Finding parts in CT can be a little tricky as the parts you need are usually the same ones that rust out on everybody else's truck. I've called all the salvage yards and not many donor trucks left. If you need anything let me know.

I'm looking for a parts truck myself.

$4K Should get you a decent truck around here. I'm looking for a second square body and came across this one.

It appears to have quite a bit of work done and when I spoke to him last week he wanted $5k for it. Might be flexible

Thanks guys for the welcomes! Hink I checked out that truck last night, it runs great for the most part, but I found out that it's using a 350 balencer and flex plate on that 383. It needs the 400 ones from what I'm told. Who knows if it's damaged internally or not already. It drove great, but I'm nervous about that. Plus the body is worse than I thought. They said the price is 4k, but I don't know if I want to buy it because of that engine.

I'm willing to travel, or ship for the right truck.
