I have been told several times to get the best gasket set you can for an LS. Now in my day Fel-Pro was that the bees' knees when it came to gaskets. What's "the best" gasket set now?

My new cam;
Texas Speed Stage 4 Truck Cam223/226
TSP .660 Dual Spring Kit w/Titanium Retainers One piece seat and seal.
TSP Push Rods

GM MLS - unless trying to change compression then Cometic

and

At the least, ARP Bolts
Yup...lesson learned from last time, going with studs. Actually there's a cool video on utube that compares a lot of them. I went with PQY due to the video and reviews on the web.

Me, I'm a felpro guy

I'm currently rebuilding an L9H(6.2L Gen IV) and I just used new GM MLS head gaskets and GM front/rear and oil pan gaskets. The stock GM ones are at 240k miles on my 2011 Suburban 5.3L and have zero leaks, so why try to improve on that with an unknown. I AM using fel-pro intake manifold gaskets though.

The L9H is getting a TSP L92 VVT-1 cam kit and otherwise staying stock. The suburban already has a Volant intake and full exhaust with long tubes.

It's a much more mild cam than the Stage 4 with 216/229 on a 107 ICL. .600"/.600" lift to take advantage of the rectangle ports and 6.2L displacement. Other than that it is a stock non-DOD engine with VVt and flex-fuel capable so it has the bigger 56lb/hr injectors.

Fel-pro till I can't.
I used a set of mahle or whatever. (Blue letters) on my vortec 350 lower intake manifold gaskets once and had to unexpected change a cylinder head after 6 months. I was shocked at the intake manifold gasket conditions. Allot of the plastic was broken and rubber misformed. Never again. The old gaskets were more usable than they were. And I'm sure the GM Gaskets are good too.

With the Vortec gaskets, always always ALWAYS use the ones with the steel body. Never the plastic ones. GM, Felpro, Mahle... they all SUCK if they are plastic. Felpro and Mahle both make very nice and durable steel bodied gaskets that will hold up fine for the life of the engine.
