'I hate this **** but I'm going to do it anyway' hahaha :happy175:
Looks like a hasty wiring job is the root of the headlights winking.

From the factory?
i think he is using should in a specific way here.

I agree, should. they dont factory, because i think the current draw becoems a lot over to 4 headlamps. either relays or using LED could fix that. I think if on brights, all 4 *SHOULD* be on too ;)

Haven't run a full tank through it yet. About 10 gal run thru it. I've got a filter before the pump and one before the carb so I don't think trash is getting in it. Found a lot of rusty ground connections. Loose wires to the headlights.

Missing the plugs for the lights. Po soldered the wires on to lights.

2 loose wires on drivers side. Both seem to be the same color. Orange or yellow.

I hate this **** but, I'm gonna do it anyway. I'm c leaning up all grounds to lights and battery. I bought new battery cables and an extra ground wire to go from motor to frame. Wanted a braided one but this one will do.

Gonna go get 4 new head lights and plugs for them tomorrow if they have the plastic plus for the lights.

Its amazing what new grounds do. I did the same thing, used lugged cables for now. Its just need to find all i need and where they all should go.

see the tessa tape on the last one? Its covering a lug to lug connection. :| to the starter. My gpa must have broke it, cut it, and lugged it, ran it the rest of the way. definitely wasnt a good connection becaue its not even copper lug, or clean bolt. needless to say, its gonna go.

Still not all 4 at once for high beams but, much better than before.

Also replaced battery ground wire too.

ALL 4 of mine 'ARE' on when on bright, always has been since I owned the truck. But he has a different model year and his are all 4 horizontal while mine are stacked vertical, might make a difference, I don't know.

Yes, mine should be stacked like yours are. Po put the burb grille on so that is the difference between the two.

The wiring is a mess from po and I think the headlight switch might be bad. He also put a tilt wheel on it so the dimmer switch is 0n the blinker switch. It has the 89 burb grille and 4 head lights. Only 2 work at a time in high or low. Low seems to be brighter but, I'm not sure. I know when I switch back and forth. One is not very bright at all. The brighter of the 2 doesn't look to be high beam bright(if that makes any sense)at all. It could be grounds too.

Maybe the stumble and bad running could be in the dizzy too. Once it seems to get up around 190 or 200 it starts running like that. I have a brand new skip white distributor I pulled off the sbc 305 too. Would they be interchangeable with a BBC?
If you consistently get a driveabilty problem at 190-200 I'd be looking at my thermo vacuum switches checking for correct hose routing to and from.Very possibly when the switch opens you now have a vacuum leak, or too much timing, or an egr valve being opened by manifold vacuum etc.

Sorry I didn't read enough of the posts the the 190-200 drivability problem is gone.Good luck

i know you werent kidding.

in the serious way, i dont get the reference so yes. I do like yellow zip ties. They are really thick ones higher quality. I have the clear ugly ones but they were flimsy.

I believe that's proper operation for the mini-quad style lights. Both bulbs only have two wires, correct?

It sounds to me in the video, the plugs were fouling out and they would clear out with some rpm.

Yes two wires to lights. New plugs with engine swap so they should be good.
