Have any of you ever heard of blue swingers? They are currently on my truck. My dad says they sound better than any other glasspack. I dont think they make them any more. Just asking to see your guys input.

Yeah, they were made by Walker back in the 60s and 70s. Sound pretty good.

I've never heard of them. Just "cherry bombs" (around here that's what we call the cheap ones too) and then the less common "Purple Hornies".

They are under the Thrush name now, and they are red.

This confuses me, is there such a thing as a glasspack that doesn't sound good?

(glasspacks on little 4 and 6 bangers don't count)

My Blazer actually sounds good with a glass pack...A little loud for my taste though.

Glasspacks with longer cases are quieter. I have a pair that are about 36" long and wasn't happy with them because they were too quiet.

Take into consideration, the age of yours. Some get better, the more miles you put on them.Post up a video, Muh Bruthah!

Ahh, this convo takes me back to the Dodge days when I got my first glasspack and slapped it on my first V-8 powered Ramcharger, with singe exhaust....

We put one on a buddy's '91 K5 with the stock single exhaust setup and original pellet type converter, it sounded almost like stock. He rolled it before we could remove the converter though.

When I was 17 I had glasspacks (shorter and cheaper ones) and duals put on my Impala for 100 bucks, that was a great day. Like that recent commercial said, happier than Gallagher at a farmer's market.

4.3's have always sounded good with performance mufflers...a very identifiable sound unique to that engine.

I agree, if it's an auto. With a stick behind them things change at low RPM and some mufflers will make them sound like a tractor. They also tend to cackle between shifts.
