Alright guys, I need a little help. I have an 87 custom deluxe that I am building. I would like to upgrade my gauge cluster to include one with a tach. I have found several on eBay but they look to be out of mid 70's trucks or blazers. I am also upgrading to a 454(out of an 89) and want the 0-80 psi oil gauge. The problem is I don't want to spend the arm and a leg on one then it not work in my truck. Let me also say that this is my first build and am by no means a mechanic so I was curious if there is a way to know that the gauge cluster will work in my truck. If this has already been addressed can you direct me to the right thread. Thanks in advance.

You can use a 1978-89 gas tach cluster from any C/K truck all the way up to a C60. It will plug in (need clarification as to 1978-79 will plug in or not). The oil pressure gauge is also a plug in. The tach harness will be the only harness that will need to be run, there's power, ground and tach signal.

Thanks guys. I like the custom job. Probably a lot better quality gauges too. Gonna try a stock cluster first.

I just recently did this very upgrade, and I have never looked back! I recommend it!
