1987 R-30 5.7K I have owned this truck since new.
I need to change my fuel tank selector valve. The old one is marked
15548979 with POLLACK molded into the housing. Checking with POLLACK
tech they say the 6-port valve they sell P/N: 42-159 is a universal and the
electrical pinning will have to be changed on my trucks connector. I called LMC but they
are no help as they do not have any tech people for the valve P/N: 32-3293 they sell.
I checked BROTHERS, CLASSIC INDUSTRIES, and CLASSIC PARTS but they don't sell
the valve. LMC seems to be the only vendor. Where can I get a direct replacement
valve that is "plug and play"-no mods required? If anyone else has had this problem
please let me know how you solved it.

Another forum lists an Autozone Duralast Fuel Tank Selector Valve FSV2. It says it needs a new connector or probably repinning like you described. Its made by Wells. Wells application information and technical support via its Tech Line at 1-800-558-9770.

Craig, thanks for the response. I called the number you gave and the tech guy said they(Wells) do not sell or support that valve any longer. I called Autozone and there are several stores around my area that have them in stock. $66.95. I will buy the Pollack valve (32-159)and perform the necessary re-pinning. Again, thanks for the great help. BTW your K30 is a real find-not all that many FWD "tons" around. If you hear of a source for the GM 15548979 valve let me know.
Regards, Mark
