So I road tripped from FL to NC. The fuel gauge "works" but once it is off full, the needle bounces with a 1/4 tank swing. I was pretty conservative on my fuel stops because I didn't want to run out. Any idea how to verify the size of the tank? also is the needle bounce most likely a sending unit going bad or is this a characteristic of these trucks? The truck is 1980 C10 short bed Silverado, P/S, P/B, A/C, 250 6cyl, auto. It has a single fuel tank.
