Fuel questions! help please

new info need more help! so when i switch to my completely empty passanger side tank it reads a little above empty like one line but when i switch to the other one it goes to a little above full i know my driver side is not working but maybe if i put some fuel in my other tank it might work any thoughts?

Sounds like what's happening in my 83. Left side reads right, but the right side PEGS way past full. I have no idea how much gas is actually in it, but I know it's dirty gas, so I only use the left tank for now. I'll worry about the right side later, lol. When am I gonna afford 40 gallons? From the info presented, I would think that the trouble lies in your sending unit on one side or the other, just like mine. The gauge is still reading one tank correctly. So I think I've got a bad ground on the sending unit, but wires, grounds, and gas tanks kinda freak me out, :)

With my stock '87 3/4 ton 350/700R4, I average around 15mpg @ 35 mph. Once I hit freeway speeds...starts sucking it down a bit faster.
