On my k3500 the slotted hope is on drivers side
That's gotta be it then. It fit so well though the other way. Have to get the kids off to school and then I will go check it out

Everything on the truck is original in that respect. That crossmember had been on that truck since I bought it in 1997. Four wheel has never been an issue before now. Like Bucket said, it could be on backwards so I will check that out
i literally made another post saying "yeah what bucket said, I definitely think thats a possibility given the same crossmember I have 2 of have a dip down and my photo shows the dip down toward the front" lol. i know it was wordy but :(

After thinking on it, because i just installed a modified 4x4 crossmember in my 2wd suburban to clear the new transmissions deep pan, there is a clearance made into the cross member to clear the front driveshaft. (I used the same clearance to clear my exhaust pipe when i flipped the x member upsidedown.

Retract that statement, i didnt use the front driveline loop to clear the exhuast, but in the pic you can see its a 4x4 crossmember thats been flipped upsidedown.

I moved the entire thing backwards to the tail shaft housing to completely avoid the pan.

Either way OP, that loop on the right side of my picture above is what clears the front shaft and its yoke.

Just make sure you dont put it in upsidedown :)

It is in backwards. Hard to see I in this picture, but The indented part is on my driver's side. Easy fix! Thanks for the help!
