Front Axle Overhaul (Dana 44)
From one side of things to another. It is now time to overhaul the axles on the front. After driving last night with a lot of popping, clanging, and shuddering it puckered up the butt enough that it needs to get fixed asap.
Now I know a few special tools will be needed such as a 4 point socket for the inner rings and a ball joint tool for the ujoints and ball joints.
But I've been searching and doing lots of reading and there is a lot of information out there that is really overwhelming.
Does anyone know if there is a master list or perhaps someone has created a list of all the bearings and seals and such that I will need to rebuild the front axle shafts? I have a open end d44 on my truck.
