If you are ditching the hood, second should be the "StepSide" go back to Fleetside!

I sought out the step side as I just like the look of them. I know a lot of folks prefer the fleet side and both my other trucks from the past were fleet sides. Just got my 4/6 drop kit and new wheels/tires this past weekend. Going to have them mounted tomorrow. 15x8 (245) and 15x10 (275) - Hopefully this will capture the look I am going for that I liked so much back in the day. The wheels came with the chevy stickers on them...guess I need the GMC's.

Wish me luck on the c/notch drop kit and drop spindles for the front. I have never done one before but it seems straightforward. I just got the truck secure to do the rear drop and cut the bump stops off. Found a ton of info here so far and I am hoping I do not run into anything crazy. I may have to modify the exhaust on the drivers side as the loop over the rear seems lower than the passenger side. It *might* be close after the drop. Also for some reason the PO has the rear shocks mounted to the outside edge of the rear lower mounts rather than in the factory slot? Anyway I have new KYB's coming with mount extenders so those shocks are going away. Thanks again for all the support!

Nothing wrong with a good looking step side, I was just being a smart ass! It's a good looking truck. Regarding the "C-Notch" trust me, if I can do it most anyone can do it! You're probably already done by now.

I was in the same situation as you. There is a lot of junk in my area guys ask 8-10k for. I searched forever for a decent shortbox/stepside and was not going to pay 15k or more. I had to drive 650 miles to get one, but I finally found a good deal on an 82 Silverado stepside.
Nice truck! Good choice on those new wheels.
