Looking to install long tube headers and new 2.5" exhaust. The truck already has true duals, but is stock 2" pipe. My question is for those guys that have used a generic pipe kit. Were you able to use a straight pipe coming off the headers, or does it need a couple slight bends? Since I dont have the headers yet, I am not sure where they will end up. It looks like a straight pipe may work, but very hard to tell.

Drivers side a straight chunk will usually work, passenger side it needs to kick out slightly if you don't wanna go below the frame rail. Depends on how low the headers sit.

Both of my pipes have a slight bend upward to keep them above the frame.

On my ‘75 K25 there is ample space for a nearly straight pipe on the drivers side, but on the passenger side the crossmember has a diagonal piece, and the transfer case also goes out and down toward the passenger side. I have 2 1/4” pipe and it was a challenge to get it centered in the open space on the passenger side so it didn’t bang on the cross member or lay up against the transfer case. 2 1/2” pipe would be an even tighter fit.
