Thats the wire. When you disconnected the battery, did youlet it get to operating temp? If not, it will run fine on factory settings from the calpack, until it gets into closed loop mode, where it uses the readings from the sensors.

no but once up to opperating temp should i disconect the bat. while truck is running or off at opperating temp
also the wire had what looked like a fusible link

That is the plug that you disconnect when you set the timing...like unplugging the vac line on old school.
What you did when you disconnected your battery, is clear the computer. Now it will re learn again. But, when you start it back up, it runs from factory pre sets, then goes into closed loop once it warms up. on open loop, it ignores the o2 sensor.
No need to disconnect the battery again.

Drive it around for about a 1/2 hour, and see if she acts up again.
If it cuts out, check for spark immidiately, that will narrow the problem down to ignition or fuel.

Can you post a pic of the top of your engine close up, no air cleaner?

Does it run fine when it is running normally? I.E. not sputtering? Plug wiring at the cap looks off to me for some reason in the 3rd pic. Unless that's a crab cap.

Looks prettybgood to me. Just one thing...make sure the Green and white injector wires are going to the drivers side injector...I see you had to splice in new plugs...I had to do the same thing.

You can run the wires across the cap on a TBI distributor, no coils in the way. I dont like to do it, because there is a chance that spark could leak from one of the other posts, and cause problems...I prefer out and around.
Where is that clear vacuum line on the front of the TBI running too?

Thats going to the vac port on his AIR diverter valve...Thats the valve I need.
