The big concern is making sure all the fuel lines are in good shape. Even the slightest appearance of dry rot or cracking means they need to go in the garbage. If you can switch between both tanks and get fuel gauge readings when you flip the selector, you’re already ahead. The tanks came with a plastic shroud, but I think a lot of people take those off and leave them off. The tanks sit about half under the cab and half under the bed where you can just barely have complete access to the sending unit with the bed off. They should tuck nicely in the frame and hug the edges pretty well. Looking at the side head on, you should be able to see the bottom of the shrouding if it’s still there. Probably very little or none should stick out with the shroud gone. If you have specific concerns or questions, feel free to post pictures and your questions. I wasn’t quite sure what you were asking so that was a very general overview.

I’m going to take some pictures & sorry about being vague but I’m a baby to this
Okay so far I just put the cluster back in and everything is working as far as I can tell but when the previous owner took of the selector switch off it came apart I put it together only problem is it won’t stay in dash I don’t see the gauge move so I need to fill up my LH tank to see if it will move. Didn’t want to full Incase I have to drop tank
