Driver side window Weathersripping

I am going to replace the weatherstripping that hold my driver side window in and i was wondering do you have to take out the vent window? I think it's called the window chanel weatherstripping Im not changing the vent window weather stripping just the back side of the window that channel's thru it. any help is appreciated.

I don't think so. Might have to remove the door glass though.

You don't have to take the window or vent window assembly out to change the window weather striping. It's easier to do if you remove the door panel. Dig out the old weather striping and install the new one.

You don't have to take the window or vent window assembly out to change the window weather striping. It's easier to do if you remove the door panel. Dig out the old weather striping and install the new one.

Cool. You done it? Any more tips? do you have to unbolt the tracks or anything?

I did it when I repainted my doors. I didn't unbolt the tracks, I used a little silicone lube and sprayed down the backside of the weather striping and slid it down between the channel and the glass. The pain in the ass is getting the old stuff out. I tried to get the old stuff out in a complete as possible way and what did crack and stay in I used a small pick to remove.
