I wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced the following problem. My driver side door will not stay open but my passenger will. I tried looking at my passenger door as a reference but couldnt find any difference in the two. Does anyone have any ideas or know of a fix to keep my door from closing on its own? Thanks

It's probably missing the spring. It's shaped like an S and most of the time they break and fall out. My K10 is the same way, ps door works great but the ds door won't stay open.

You can buy just the spring, but I'm not sure how hard it is to install.

I had the same problem with my ds door. I couldn't find just the spring anywhere online. Ordered a repo hinge and popped it out

LMC sells the spring by itself. I've been debating on just replacing it or the whole hinge.

Id do the whole hinge,, there a bitch to put a spring on them with the door on,, it can be done though, ive seen um with the rollers missing too, and id bet the bushing would need to be replaced also,, so just do the hinge and be done with it..:beatdeadhorse5:

just replace the whole hinge because they are always bad on those trucks usually the pin and bushings cause more problems than the spring.

I guess I've been lucky because all of my hinges have still had the tension springs on them, except for the '84, both of those are broke.
