its a 4 barrel. im assuming. it has a plate on top the intake for removing the engine. looks like a large square, so im guessing 4.

I didn't think 283 came with a 4bbl, but I guess it does. Maybe not in trucks is why I was thinking that. Pretty sure to get a 4bbl in a truck back then it had to be a 327. I sure wouldn't mine having that thing for a 4x4 rig. W/O accessory holes in the heads It's a PITA to add any thing like AC but you can't kill those small journal engines. The valve seals would need replaced for sure, but I'd be willing to bet that would be a good running engine with some new valve seals and ignition parts.

Probs. I find it very cool. I love the valve covers, but not enough to sacrifice pcv. I saw on ebay they sell baffled and grommeted valve covers with the same elegant design. priceless. If I had an impala youd be SOL rn lol. But It will be a long time before i get a dream car, need to get established in life first.
