did you try pick /pulls,?
and you can do a whole lot nicer than period correct.... like 2002 era.
Useful information, I did not know this so thank you!Just another option....
The 80-87(91) back is the same but the base is different in spring design and is actually better. The upholstery interchanges.
You can find replacement springs for the 73-80 online if you have some broken. Typically on the drivers side. You can also weld some wire to them to reinforce.
Reminder for your search that Suburban/ CC front benches dont fold forward. And CC rears dont have sliders.
I powdercoat all my frames, cerakote the sliders, and add heaters to every seat for my trucks. Extra few hundred but worth it.
Here in Az i can usually find seats under $100 if patient. Ive actually tossed the last few extras as nobody wanted them.
Yes, mounting brackets are the same or at least i dont notice a difference. I know the covers for the hinges are different between early and late and i think the adjustment knob is slightly different but same in functionality.Useful information, I did not know this so thank you!
I had planned on having the frame powder coated but I did not know about the cerakote. I'll probably add the heaters too since here in Wyoming it can get deathly cold!
Are the mounting brackets (where the seat mounts to the floor) on the 80-87 the same as my 73?
Too bad you're not closer to SE Texas, I have a front bench out of the 77 Burb with later style light tan velour upholstery. Just using it as a couch in the shop building....Yes, mounting brackets are the same or at least i dont notice a difference. I know the covers for the hinges are different between early and late and i think the adjustment knob is slightly different but same in functionality.
The 73-80 is the old school springy feel that started with buggies, the 81+ is a more solid feel. Both are negated depending on the foam.
Seat heaters are around a $100 a pair on Amazon for the ones that have 2 temps.
Looks like a square body front seat, probably from a Scottsdale or Sierra since it's all vinyl. Reminds me a lot of the ones in the 78 and 81 Sierra shop trucks. I want to say the early years had chrome buckles on the seat back upholstery, I remember the 75 Sierra Classic having them. Maybe that was just on the deluxe trim levels though?
Does any of the plastic or the metal parts have #s on them.
Molded #s that denote a part # can be used to trace what vehicles it was made for.
(Someone here had a brown Plymouth laser seat from circa 84, and other found a stock #, on a pick of the plastic... several #s, but some of the sequence denoted a make, model, year
I think the later trucks had those....our Burbs were all buckets though.I've never seen anything with those plastic seatbelt surrounds, that's what threw me off.
