I actually have two questions for you guys:

1. What defines the C, K, R, and V on the chevys?
2. Are the motor mounts the same for the 88 Chevy V20 suburban 4x4 350 and 454? from autozone they are the same part number. The original 350 is getting replaced with the 454 out of my 86 3/4 ton 4x2.

any comments or directions would be greatly appreciate, thank you in advance.

Well, the VIN designation explanation can be found in the VIN thread.

C = 4x2; K = 4x4

Starting in 1987, GM changed the squarebody to R & V because the GMT400 was due out in early spring and it's designation was to continue the C/K.

R = 4x2; V = 4x4

I'm not sure about the mounts. They show no difference, however I know of one 350 to 454 conversion where the frame had to be cut for the power steering pump, but it could have been the pump mounts. When the same 454 was put in a 6 cylinder truck without changing the mounts, the pump cleared the frame.

The GM partsdirect site is showing them to be different but doesn't show the part numbers any more.

I think the motor mounts for the GMT-400(new c/k) were a bit taller to compensate for the wider frame.
If you have an R or V out here, you have to order mounts for an 85 for some reason.

I believe the mounts themselves are all the same, but the mount brackets that bolt to the block are different between body styles and SB/BB. In most cases, a BB will go right in place of a SB using the SB mounts and brackets.

No problem! I also went ahead and moved this thread to the engine swap section.
